How it works

From your website to a week of posts you've approved.

Lumo does the writing and the designing. You keep the final say. Here's what happens, step by step.

The steps

  1. Lumo learns your brand and your voice

Paste your website address and Lumo reads it in about a minute. You check what it found and fix anything that's off.

    • Your look: logo, colours, fonts and photos.
    • Your facts: products, prices, questions and events. Lumo only uses the ones you tick.
    • Your company voice: from your website, your social profiles and a few pieces of your writing.
    • Each person's voice: invite your team and each person sets up their own, so a post in Liam's name sounds like Liam.

No website? That's fine. Tap "I don't have a website" and answer a few questions instead.

  2. Each week, your Weekly Drop

On the day and time you pick, Lumo prepares a batch of posts and a newsletter, written in your voice and set in branded designs. This automatic weekly run is the heart of Lumo, and we're switching it on with our pilot businesses.

    • Choose 5, 10 or 20 pieces a week.
    • Pick your channels: LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Google Business and your email newsletter.
    • A healthy mix: quick tips, behind the scenes, myth-busters, events, offers and customer stories. Mostly helpful posts, with at most one offer in a drop of five.
  3. You approve everything on your phone

Review one card at a time, on your phone or computer. Each card shows the post as it will look.

    • Approve and it goes into your calendar at its time, ready for the Post kit or your scheduler.
    • Change by saying it, typing it or editing the text. Quick options include Shorter and Warmer.
    • Skip and Lumo can offer something else instead.

Nothing posts without your OK. You, or an admin you choose, approve every piece.

  4. Posting, your way

Once a post is approved, you choose how it gets out.

    • The Post kit: copy the caption and hashtags, download the image or carousel, open the app and post. Tap "I've posted it" when you're done.
    • Your scheduler: export the week for Metricool, Buffer or Publer.
    • Your newsletter: Lumo sends it into your own Mailchimp or Klaviyo account.
  5. Posting straight to Facebook and Instagram Coming

Soon you'll be able to connect your own Facebook Page and Instagram business account, so approved posts go out at their time without the Post kit. This is planned for the Team and Pro plans. How the connection works.

Create on demand Coming

Need a post today? You'll be able to say or type what it's about, add a photo or a link, and pick the channel. Same voice, same rules. It switches on with our pilots.

More than one brand

Run a second business or a sub-brand? Each brand gets its own look, voice and plan, and you review them all in one queue.

A photo library

Keep your own photos in one place for Lumo to use. Where you need more, it can suggest stock photos from Pexels.

Your ground rules

Pick your industry and list anything Lumo should stay away from. Health, finance, legal and property businesses get stricter rules.

No invented facts

Lumo won't make up prices, stats, reviews or moments that didn't happen. When something's missing, it asks you. This can't be switched off.

Pause everything

If something happens and you need quiet, one switch stops all posting, reminders and new writing until you're ready.

Where things are up to

Lumo is new, and we're switching features on with our first pilot businesses. We'd rather tell you plainly than overpromise.

  • Ready now: setup from your website, your brand kit and photo library, voices and voice chat, the review queue, chatting with Lumo, templates, the Post kit and calendar, weekly exports for Metricool, Buffer and Publer, newsletters into Mailchimp or Klaviyo, and more than one brand.
  • The automatic Weekly Drop and Create on demand are built, and we're switching them on with our pilot businesses.
  • Posting straight to Facebook and Instagram is coming, once Meta approves Lumo's access. Until then, the Post kit and scheduler exports do the job.
  • WhatsApp messages about posts waiting for you are coming too.
  • Video (short clips and faceless shorts) and AI pictures are coming later. Each plan shows its video allowance, ready for when it switches on.
  • LinkedIn posts go through the Post kit until LinkedIn approves direct posting for us.
